The Midlands Environmental Business Company (originally Midlands Environmental Business Club), was established in 1991. MEBC is committed to promoting the values of sustainable development (the amalgam of four sets of values – economic growth, social responsibility, environmental protection and the prudent use of non-renewable resources) as being good for businesses and stimulating significant business opportunity. This includes new products and services created by change caused by environmental impact such as climate change, new legislation, and the growing focus on corporate social responsibility. Change creates opportunity. MEBC provides a practical focus on how the business community can benefit and play a lead role on behalf of its own interests and those of society as a whole.
Renewable Energy
The UK Government is committed to a major programme of energy production from renewable resources; – wind power, photovoltaics, waste to energy – the list is substantial. MEBC is at the forefront of linking regional businesses to this massive new market and its demands for engineering, manufacturing and professional services.
Information & Networking Meetings
Highly successful Business Breakfast Briefings and specialist project briefing sessions are frequently staged across the region. They bring together engineering and manufacturing, service and professional sector businesses to explore new business opportunities, to be informed, and to network.
