Midlands Environmental Business Company (MEBC) is the custodian of the Midlands Environmental Business Club, which was founded in 1991. The MEBC, registered in 1995, is a not-for-profit, limited liability company. A wholly owned subsidiary company, MEBC Projects Limited, was established to split project work away from membership type activity, especially to facilitate effective audit trailing of funds received in support of projects.

MEBC is managed by a Board of Directors from regional businesses. It is, therefore, a not for profit business run by regional businesses to promote sustainable development to the region’s business community.

MEBC believes that society must transform the way it functions to become sustainable. To achieve this, it will need an array of new products and services. Therefore, aspirations to achieve sustainability must be one of the biggest opportunities the business community has ever seen. MEBC believes this is particularly pertinent to Midlands regional businesses and is working with, for example, Advantage West Midlands, to try and ensure the region fully capitalises on the opportunity.
